Instrument-making is one of the urgent directions of training; specialists in this area will be always in demanded. Relevance of the direction is connected with continuous development of science, analysis and implementation of new processes, development of microprocessor engineering and information technologies. That is why researches in the field of modern devices and systems creation are essentially necessary for acquisition, registration and processing of the information about environment, biological and technical objects.

The area of bachelor’s professional activities includes:
- researches, and technologies aimed at creation and operation of devices for receiving, registration and processing of information about environment, man-made and biological objects.

Subjects of bachelor’s professional activities depend on the content of the educational program and may be:
- electronic and mechanical, magnetic, electromagnetic, optical, thermophysical, acoustic and optical-acoustic methods;
- devices, complexes and making-making element base;
- materials production technology, components, devices and systems, software, information and measuring techniques in instrument-making.

The bachelor in “Instrument-making” is trained for the following types of professional activities:
- design,
- production and engineering,
- research,
- organization and management.

The higher educational institution, the trained, scientific and pedagogical staff of the university, and associations of employers define particular types of professional activity of bachelor training.

Upon graduation, those who have passed successfully final state certification apart from qualification (degree) "Bachelor", are appropriated a special title of "Bachelor-Engineer".
