Today geodesy is mostly concerned satellite geodesy and based on GPS and GLONASS. It is difficult to imagine modern geodesy without close interaction with remote sensing and geoinformatics. Electronic maps and atlases, 3D cartographical models and other geo-images came into usual means of research for surveyors and other professionals in geo-sciences. Promptly increasing interests to satellite navigation systems, both their mass implementation and commercialization, make the programme "Geodesy and Remote Sensing" especially actual.

The bachelor’s professional activities include:
- acquisition of spatial Earth’s surface information, its subsoil resources, space objects, representation of Earth’s surface or its territories in plans and maps;
- implementation of georeferencing of objects, phenomena and processes on the Earth’s surface and in surrounding space, creation of DTM;
- organization and carrying-out of work on geodata acquisition and distribution, both for the territory of the Russian Federation in general, and for its regions, aiming at the development of their infrastructure.

Bachelor’s professional activities are:
- Earth, other planets and their satellites;
- administrative-territorial entities;
- man-made and natural objects on the Earth’s and other planets surface;
- geodynamic phenomena and processes;
- gravity, electromagnetic and other physical fields.

The Bachelor in “Geodesy and Remote Sensing” is trained for the following types of professional activities:
- industry and engineering,
- planning and surveying,
- organization and management,
- research.

The higher educational institution, the trained, scientific and pedagogical staff of the university, and associations of employers define particular types of professional activity of bachelor training.
Upon graduation, those who have passed successfully final state certification apart from qualification (degree) "Bachelor", are appropriated a special degree of "Bachelor-Engineer".Profiles:

Subjects of bachelor’s professional activities are:

- gravitational, electromagnetic and other physical fields.
