Today the profession of a mining engineer is one of the most highly paid. Any gold and diamond-mining, or oil and gas company can’t manage without surveying services. The surveyor works at: exploration of natural resources; mountain enterprises being both under construction and operation; construction of underground constructions. In the course of construction, the surveyor controls the implementation of underground works, carries out measurements and corrects project deviations.

The area of specialist’s professional activities includes:
- engineering support of human activities in Earth subsoil when carrying out operational exploration, extraction and processing of firm minerals, construction and operation of underground objects of different function.

Subjects of specialist’s professional activities are:
- Earth subsoil, including industrial objects, equipment and technical systems of their development,
- technologies of safe and efficient ensuring of production, firm minerals processing, and rational use of underground space.

Specialist in Mining is trained for the following types of professional activities:
- production and technology,
- organization and administration,
- research,
- design.

A higher educational institution together with being trained, scientific and pedagogical staff of the university and associations of employers defines particular types of specialist training.

Upon graduation of training in Mining along with qualification «Specialist» the graduate student is appropriated a special title of «Mining engineer».Profile: Mine Surveying

During construction the mine surveyor controls the correctness of underground works, carries out measurements and corrects design deviations.

The area of specialist’s professional activities includes:

- engineering support of human activities in the interior of the earth when carrying out operational exploration, extraction and processing of solid commercial minerals, construction and operation of underground objects of different application.

Subjects of specialist’s professional activities are:
- Earth subsoil, including industrial objects, equipment and hardware for their development,
- Techniques and technologies providing safe and efficient ensuring of production, solid commercial minerals processing, and rational use of underground space.

The specialist in Mining is trained for the following types of professional activities:
- industry and engineering,
- planning and surveying,
- organization and management,
- research.

A higher educational institution together with being trained, scientific and pedagogical staff of the university and associations of employers defines particular types of specialist training.

Upon graduation of training in "Mining" along with qualification "Specialist" the graduate student is appropriated a special degree "Mining Engineer".
