An engineer specializing in «Ammunition and fuses» is a specialist who participates in the development of technological processes for the manufacture of parts and units of ammunition and fuse samples, their assembly and acceptance conditions, and also carries out planning, development and organization of design, research, production and technological and field testing work that ensure the required level of quality of ammunition and fuses and evaluates the effectiveness of their action.
Taking into account the active implementation and use of automated design systems in modern production, the training program includes the study of domestic products such as KOMPAS, T-Flex, LOGOS, etc.
The main task of an engineer is the development and design of ammunition fuses for various purposes, as well as the professional use of special proving ground, bench and laboratory equipment and methods used for experimental development, research and testing of ammunition and fuse samples. Currently, graduates work in various design bureaus and enterprises of the defense complex of the Russian Federation.

Educational practice is conducted on the territory of SSUGT, as well as on the territory of various scientific and industrial organizations. To master practical skills, an in-house laboratory is used, where future specialists master the design of various types of weapons, as well as conduct research on the aerodynamic characteristics of ammunition, work on a simulator for the assembly and disposal of ammunition. Industrial practice takes place at leading enterprises of the defense industry complex of Russia. After completing industrial practice, in most cases, students begin a career at the enterprise, which contributes to further employment as a certified specialist.
