«Geodesy and Remote Sensing» is a training program that combines two important areas of knowledge - geodesy and remote sensing. This is a field of activity that deals with measuring and determining spatial coordinates and heights of points on the ground, creating maps and plans, and using aerospace information obtained by satellites and other means to analyze and study the Earth's surface.

The program is aimed at acquiring knowledge and skills in the field of geodetic measurements and methods of their processing, studying tools and devices for conducting geodetic work, as well as the basics of mathematics and geodesy. The program provides for the study of geodetic development, creating maps and plans, including the use of geographic information systems (GIS), as well as the principles of creating and analyzing spectral data obtained using remote sensing, geodetic support for construction, using geodetic tools and methods for quality control of construction work, principles of creating digital terrain models and orthogonal sources of information.

The training includes the study of software and computer technologies used in geodesy and remote sensing, such as GIS, special programs for processing geodetic and spectral data, as well as three-dimensional modeling and visualization of spatial information, software products: KREDO, Photomod, Agisoft Photoscan, GIS Panorama, etc.

The profile of the educational program is aimed at training bachelors capable of solving problems related to geodetic measurements on the Earth's surface, coordinate-time and navigation support of territories, the creation of a state geodetic network, including solving problems related to the needs of the country's defense. The program includes the study of geodynamic phenomena, modern vertical movements of the earth's surface, seismic zoning of the territory of the Russian Federation, and the identification of earthquake precursors. The program provides for the development of competencies necessary for the implementation of production tasks in the development of GNSS differential station networks, ensuring the uniformity of measurements in high-precision geodetic and gravimetric work, geodetic support for engineering and engineering-geological surveys, determining the parameters of the Earth's gravitational field and studying their changes over time.

Remote sensing of natural resources

The program profile is focused on mastering the methods of applying modern remote sensing technologies in the study, management, monitoring and assessment of natural resources of our planet, knowledge of the physical principles and methods of remote sensing, as well as special tools and software used in this area.

The profile program includes studying the principles of operation of satellite and aviation systems, as well as the basics of processing and analyzing spectral data obtained using various sensors.

One of the important aspects of training is the use of geographic information systems (GIS), including geospatial data management, spatial information analysis, map creation and spatial analysis, as well as learning programming in Python or other languages to automate GIS tasks.

Practical training

The educational program provides for educational and industrial practices, including the acquisition of skills in working with modern geodetic equipment, unmanned aerial vehicles, and software products. Educational practice takes place both on the territory of SSUGT and at manufacturing enterprises.

To obtain practical skills in mastering the acquired competencies, industrial practice is provided in specialized organizations from Moscow to Kamchatka. The experience gained and the collected industrial material will allow you to prepare your final qualifying work, and also contribute to further employment in these organizations.
