The relevance of the direction is associated with constant scientific and technological progress, the need to study various processes and phenomena, research and development in the field of creation, maintenance and support of modern devices and systems for obtaining, recording and processing information about the environment, biological and technical objects.
Leading teachers of SSUGT are involved in the training of bachelors in the educational program. Today, the bachelor's program includes, in addition to traditional ones, a number of special disciplines reflecting the specifics of bachelor's training, such as «Additive Technologies», «Fundamentals of Information Security», «Artificial Intelligence Systems», «Optical-Electronic Devices in Technological Processes», «Electronics and Fundamentals of Microprocessor Technology», etc.
The program profile is aimed at studying the competencies for performing professional tasks related to the implementation of technological production processes and quality control of manufactured optical products, with the development of technological processes and technical documentation for the manufacture, assembly, adjustment and design control of optical and optoelectronic devices.
Duration of full-time study - 4 years
Duration of study by correspondence - 4 years 6 months

Educational practices take place in resource centers of Novosibirsk.
Industrial practices take place in specialized organizations of the Novosibirsk Region and other regions of Russia. Students receive competencies for solving scientific and practical problems in the field, implementing professional activities that determine the readiness and ability to design and implement technological processes for the manufacture of parts of optical-electronic devices and systems, in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education.
The professional activities of graduates are related to the design and construction of optical engineering, optical and optoelectronic devices and systems. Graduates of the program are most in demand as developers at enterprises of the country's defense industry. Graduates of the program also work at enterprises and organizations engaged in research, development, production and sale of various modern devices and systems: optical and optoelectronic, thermal imaging, medical, astronomical, military optical, geodetic and many others. Graduates can continue their education in the master's program of SSUGT and other universities.
