Masters are prepared for practical work in various fields of nature management and ecology. Graduates are able to carry out complex studies of urbanized areas with varying degrees of anthropogenic load, systematize and generalize environmental data using geoinformation technologies, use remote sensing data to update information on urban infrastructure, green areas, unauthorized dumps, etc. Graduates work in industry research institutes, institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences and (or) higher educational institutions; state and municipal government bodies in the field of nature protection and nature management; design and construction organizations.
The aim of the educational program «Ecology and Nature Management» is to prepare graduates who have the competencies to perform professional activities related to:
- with diagnostics of the ecological situation of cities;
- standardization of urban ecosystems;
- organization and control of environmental protection measures;
- design and examination of urban settlement objects;
- nature management;
- environmental management;
- environmental education.
The training includes the study of modern software products: PC ERA-Air, GIS Panorama, QGIC, GIS «VEGA-Science», GIS «Axiom».
The educational program is compiled taking into account the requirements of educational and professional standards.
The areas of professional activity for which graduates of the Master's program are prepared are:
- environmental protection, including urbanized territories;
- scientific research on the assessment of anthropogenic impact on the environment and regulation;
- professional activity in industry in the field of environmental safety;
- monitoring of technogenic impact in urbanized territories;
- environmental assessment of economic activity objects;
- environmental management;
- environmental supervision and control;
- environmental education.
Duration of full-time study - 2 years
Duration of study by correspondence - 2 years 6 months
The educational program provides for educational and industrial practices, including mastering the skills of using modern means of collecting spatial data in studies of the environmental situation of urban areas, including remote sensing materials and filming from unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as geoinformation technologies for data processing. The experience gained and the collected industrial material allows you to prepare a final qualifying work, and also contributes to further employment.
Graduates of the training program 05.04.06 Ecology and Nature Management, profile "Urboecology" are in demand in the labor market and are guaranteed to find work in the profile:
- in environmental protection departments of enterprises and organizations related to various types of economic activity;

- in design, survey, production organizations dealing with environmental protection issues;
