Handling production and consumption waste is one of the most important problems in Russia. In the context of building a closed-loop economy, the relevance and timeliness of training specialists in this area has increased, which is due to the uniqueness of the tasks being solved and the lack of centers for training specialists in this area - only a few universities in the country train modern specialists in the field of waste management.
The training program in the direction 20.04.01 Technosphere Safety trains masters who are able to select and calculate the main parameters of human and environmental protection equipment in relation to specific conditions based on known methods and systems; carry out work on the application of means of ensuring safety, rescue and protection of humans and the environment from man-made and anthropogenic impacts; develop sections of projects related to safety issues; develop measures aimed at reducing the impact of negative factors on humans and the environment; conduct an economic assessment of the developed protection systems or proposed technical solutions.

The Master's degree program «Management of Technological Processes in the Sphere of Waste Management at an Economic Facility» includes three modern areas of safe waste management - industrial waste management, medical waste management and solid TKO. The main focus of the training modules is on modern standards of Russian legislation in the field of waste management, as well as processes and equipment for the preparation and processing of waste, reducing its impact on the environment, principles of organizing environmentally friendly low-waste production, biotechnologies for environmental protection and the elimination of accumulated environmental damage.

The educational program provides for educational and industrial practices, including mastering the skills of working with modern technologies for collecting, sorting, accumulating, transporting and recycling TKO.
For mastering practical classes, our own UAV fleet and training ground are used. Educational practice takes place both on the territory of SSUGT and at MSW disposal landfills, in the laboratories of research institutes studying modern TKO disposal technologies.
To obtain practical skills in mastering the acquired competencies, industrial practice is provided in specialized organizations specializing in the field of recycling of production and consumption waste. Practical training is conducted in production conditions at real economic facilities. The experience gained and the collected production material allow you to prepare a high-quality final qualifying work, and also make future graduates of this field of training competitive in the labor market.
As a result of mastering the programs, students acquire knowledge and skills in the field of environmental design of waste management facilities, ensuring resource and energy conservation in the fight against waste; Methods for eliminating accumulated environmental damage, the use of modern waste disposal technologies.
