SGUGT became one of the thematic platforms of the regional youth festival of the Novosibirsk region “Act!”

On March 14, the eco-platform “Take care of the planet!” was held at the Siberian State University of Geosystems and Technologies. as part of the regional youth festival of the Novosibirsk region “Act!”, where more than 250 university and college students and schoolchildren from the city of Novosibirsk took part. In total, the festival covered 10 venues of different types in Novosibirsk.

The organizers of the festival were: State Budgetary Institution NSO “Agency for Support of Youth Initiatives” with the support of the Youth Policy Department of the Novosibirsk Region. Partners are the Environmental Protection Committee of the Novosibirsk City Hall, the municipal unitary enterprise "SAKH", the resource center of public associations of the Leninsky district, volunteers - ecologists of the "Green League of REO" (the "Do!" movement) and others.

The festival was opened by the rector of SSUGiT Alexander Karpik. Also welcoming words were heard from the consultant of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Novosibirsk Region Larisa Serova, the chairman of the environment committee of the Novosibirsk City Hall Maria Sidorova and others. After creative performances prepared by university students, the useful part of the program began. Consultant of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology Larisa Serova gave a lecture “Rules of behavior in the forest: learning from forest special forces.” During the lecture, suits for extinguishing fires were demonstrated.

After the opening of the festival, thematic locations in the field of environmental management began operating. The participants were actively and with interest involved in the creative process: they listened to a seminar on growing microgreens and thematic lectures, took a master class on “eco-bags” and a master class on making aromas from natural materials - sea salt, dried plants and aromatic oils, and also A separate educational track has been prepared for schoolchildren and tracks for all participants - “Eco-education” and “Waste management”. In addition, a meeting was held with experts in the field of ecology, representatives of government authorities and industrial enterprises “Dialogue on equal terms. Personnel for ecology."

Also, festival participants could take part in the “Eco-friendly Exchange” SWOP party - bring their unnecessary things of good quality, buy something new for themselves and have a good time with like-minded people.

– This platform allowed us to obtain not only a lot of interesting information that would contribute to the further development of environmental literacy among young people, but also to determine their role in the environmental agenda. It is possible that the event will simply become an interesting direction for them, or perhaps serve as a start on the path of social service and the implementation of socially significant initiatives.
