The Priority 2030 program is aimed at the formation of modern universities - centers of scientific, technological and socio-economic development of Russia. 119 universities from 50 regions of the country took part in the qualifying stage. At the meeting, educational institutions presented projects of their development programs, the strongest of which would be able to apply for a grant.

In the Priority 2030 program, SSUGiT plans to implement the strategic project “High-tech geospatial ecosystem: development of human capital, creation and implementation of innovative technological solutions and products.” The goal of the project is to form an innovative research ecosystem that brings breakthrough geospatial technologies and solutions into business.

During the implementation of the strategic project, the following will be developed and created: a digital cross-platform “More than a University”, which solves the problems of automating key internal and external business processes of the university (education, scientific research, techno-entrepreneurship, innovation); innovation and technology cluster for the development, testing and promotion of breakthrough geospatial solutions and technologies in the ecosystem of the Novosibirsk region; network research and educational center for developing competencies for bringing new technologies into business; regional center for additional professional education in the field of geospatial technologies and solutions.

Rector of SSUGT Alexander Karpik commented on the plans of the change team at the university:

– We have many ambitious projects. By attracting talent, integrating scientific research with education, innovation and techno-entrepreneurship, we create strongholds where ideas, breakthrough technologies and the developments of our scientists are incubated and introduced into business, thanks to which the regional economy, industry and geospatial industry develop. The mission of SGUGT is to create a high-tech geospatial ecosystem for the sustainable development of Russia. The strategic goal is to become a leader in Siberia and the Far East in the field of geospatial activities and the development of platform solutions.
