Surveying students got a hands-on look at the process of geodetic support during construction
On November 5, 2025, fourth-year students majoring in Applied Geodesy from the Siberian State University of Geosystems and Technologies visited a large-scale construction site of a cheese factory in Maslyanino, Novosibirsk Oblast. A complex of industrial buildings and structures is currently under construction on the site. Here, the future specialists were able to witness firsthand how this ambitious project is being brought to life.
The purpose of the introductory tour was to demonstrate to the students the application of geodetic technologies in real-life modern construction conditions.
The specialized tour of the industrial site was led by experienced professionals – Vladimir Ilyich Ariskin, Head of the Production and Technical Department, and Maxim Viktorovich Ogarov, Chief Surveyor. Under their guidance, the students immersed themselves in the process of geodetic support during the construction of industrial buildings and structures. They were given a detailed explanation and visual demonstrations of the geodetic tasks performed at the industrial site at various stages of construction: from laying out the axes of structures to monitoring the horizontal and vertical alignment of building structures.
The scale of the construction project left a lasting impression on the students: the enormous scope of work, the sophisticated equipment, and the team's coordinated efforts. All of this inspired them to rethink their future professions, understand the specifics of work in the construction industry, define their career goals, and feel the importance and significance of their chosen specialty.
