The XX Anniversary Forum “Interexpo GEO-Siberia 2024” started in Novosibirsk

On May 15, the XX International Exhibition and Scientific Congress “Interexpo GEO-Siberia”, the largest Forum in Russia in the field of geospatial activities, started at the Novosibirsk Expo Center International Exhibition Complex. The thematic focus of this year is “Geospatial ecosystem - the basis for the digital transformation of society.”

For the 20th year in a row, the Forum was organized by the Siberian State University of Geosystems and Technologies. Among the co-organizers: the Government of the Novosibirsk region, the mayor's office of the city of Novosibirsk, PPK "Roskadastr" and the International Exhibition Complex "Novosibirsk Expocenter".

The forum is held with the participation of the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, the Union of German Surveyors, the International Cartographic Association and the International Digital Earth Society.

The forum is held with the support of the office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Siberian Federal District, the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography, with the participation of the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region and representatives of the largest Russian and foreign companies, universities, and institutes of the SB RAS.

– I am glad to welcome all guests of our Forum! Every year I am very happy to see familiar and new faces. This year we are holding the 20th anniversary exhibition and scientific congress “Interexpo GEO-Siberia 2024”, and exactly like 20 years ago we are discussing the most relevant topics and offering the country advanced developments. I would like to believe that all the days of our large, updated event will be easy and eventful for the participants,” rector of SSUGT Alexander Petrovich Karpik greeted the guests.

The event is intended to give impetus to the development of an international scientific and practical platform for constructive professional discussion of a wide range of theoretical problems and best practices in the functional areas of geospatial activity.

As part of the grand opening of the Forum, welcoming speeches were made by the Head of the Department for Investment Policy and Territorial Development Ivan Aleksandrovich Goncharov, the Minister of Science and Innovation Policy of the Novosibirsk Region Vasiliev Vadim Vitalievich, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Novosibirsk Expo Center International Exhibition Complex Viktor Aleksandrovich Tolokonsky and the Rector of the Siberian State University of Geosystems and technologies Karpik Alexander Petrovich.

– On behalf of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District, Anatoly Anatolyevich Seryshev, I am pleased to congratulate you on the opening of the Forum! Modern life requires us to provide operational spatial data. As a graduate of this university, I am very pleased to see that the geodetic and photogrammetric school that was founded in the USSR is now actively developing and moving our science forward. Nowadays, unmanned technologies are actively developing, and these technologies are the future,” said Ivan Aleksandrovich Goncharov, Head of the Department for Investment Policy and Territorial Development, in his welcoming speech.

A number of important events are planned on the first day of the forum, including plenary sessions “The National Spatial Data System as a tool for achieving national development goals of the Russian Federation” and “Geospatial ecosystem as the basis for the digital transformation of the university and society”, round tables and master classes, an international student geodetic Olympics and much more.

Every year, more than 3,500 heads of organizations and institutions, leading enterprise specialists, scientists, teachers and students from Russia, near and far abroad countries participate in the Forum, which indicates a high interest in the format and topics of the Forum.

The exhibition exposition "Interexpo GEO‑Siberia" presents new products in the development of unmanned aerial vehicles, optical instrumentation, laser scanning technologies, robotics, automation, specialized software (photogrammetry, cartography, GIS, digital platforms), digital services and systems for implementation in the urban environment , agriculture, territorial management, etc.

Thanks to its openness, the forum is not only a national, but also an international discussion and communication platform on which decisions are made aimed at achieving scientific, innovative and technological leadership of the Russian economy and higher education system. Traditionally, the Forum hosts events designed for both students and professionals already established in their field of activity.

Over the entire period of its operation, Interexpo GEO-Siberia will become a platform for over 30 events, including round tables, master classes, plenary sessions and much more, some of which are held in parallel. And this is more than last year! According to preliminary data, over 3,500 people registered for the Forum.
