An important competitive advantage of SSUGIT is its traditionally close and growing contacts with leading Russian enterprises, such as the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography (Rosreestr), PJSC Surgutneftegaz, JSC Roskartografiya, PJSC VTB Bank, PJSC Sberbank of Russia, JSC Russian Corporation of Rocket and Space Instrument-making and Information Systems, LLC Geoscan, LLC SCANEX Group, JSC RIRV, PJSC NK Rosneft, PJSC AK ALROSA, LLC RN-Purneftegaz, LLC Transneft-Vostok, etc. Currently, the university’s strategic partners include more than 270 Russian enterprises in high-tech industries, research institutes and centers. Joint research and production educational clusters, educational and scientific laboratories have been created within the framework of this cooperation.

Promising scientific directions and areas of cooperation with 12 research institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences are carried out in priority areas of science, engineering and technology.

The university, together with innovative enterprises and organizations, is developing and implementing advanced educational technologies to expand multi-level training: pre-university education, higher education (bachelors, masters, specialists, postgraduates, highly qualified personnel), and additional professional education.

SSUGiT maintains strong partnerships with foreign universities and international non-governmental organizations (International Federation of Surveyors, International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, International Cartographic Association and International Digital Earth Society).
