Results of the Forum “Interexpo GEO-Siberia 2024”

From May 15 to 17, the largest forum in Russia in the field of geospatial activities, the XX International Exhibition and Scientific Congress “Interexpo GEO-Siberia,” was held at the Novosibirsk Expo Center International Exhibition Complex. The thematic focus of this year is “Geospatial ecosystem - the basis for the digital transformation of society.” The forum brought together about 3,500 participants, including 245 organizations from 47 cities, 12 countries near and far abroad.

For the 20th year in a row, the Forum was organized by the Siberian State University of Geosystems and Technologies. Among the co-organizers: the Government of the Novosibirsk region, the mayor's office of the city of Novosibirsk, PPK "Roskadastr" and the International Exhibition Complex "Novosibirsk Expocenter".

The forum was held with the participation of the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, the Union of German Surveyors, the International Cartographic Association and the International Digital Earth Society.

The forum was held with the support of the office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Siberian Federal District, the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography, with the participation of the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region and representatives of the largest Russian and foreign companies, universities, and institutes of the SB RAS.

The sponsors of the Forum were PRIN JSC, ZemGeoKad Group of Companies LLC, USGIK JSC, GEOSITI LLC, SRO Association "OKIS".

– Over the entire period of its operation, Interexpo GEO-Siberia has become a platform for 37 events, including round tables, master classes, two plenary sessions, a robotics festival, an international Olympiad and much more. The number of events and participants increases every year, which proves the significance, importance and uniqueness of the project in the modern information and scientific spaces,” said Alexander Petrovich Karpik, rector of SSUGiT.

The section program included 7 international and 2 national conferences. 500 reports were presented in the sectional program. A special feature of this year’s work was the opportunity, in addition to the traditional form, to participate remotely in all Forum events via video conferencing.

Based on the results of the congress, collections of scientific materials will be published (collections have an ISSN and DOI and are included in the RSCI).

Geography of scientific congress participants from 12 foreign countries: China, USA, Canada, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Uzbekistan, Republic of Belarus, Mongolia, etc.

The exhibition presented leading developers and distributors of geodetic equipment and software, manufacturing companies, scientific and educational institutions, as well as organizations providing services in the field of geospatial activities.

Within the framework of the Forum, agreements on cooperation in the field of scientific and educational activities, as well as for the purpose of information interaction, popularization of technical knowledge, were signed between SSUGT and Soft Mall LLC, GEOCAD Plus LLC, Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology, JSC "CiSoft Development", Institute of Thermophysics named after. S.S. Kutateladze.

Forum participants noted that the XX International Exhibition and Scientific Congress "Interexpo GEO-Siberia" became a striking event in the development of the global geo-industry, the organization of the event was at a high international level, and the topic "Geospatial ecosystem - the basis for the digital transformation of society" is particularly relevant and has great prospects.
