Siberian State University of Geosystems and Technologies took part in the “Priority-2030” program

On March 22, in the co-working space “Boiling Point - Commune” in Moscow, the defense of the draft development program and strategic project of SGUGiT took place within the framework of the Priority 2030 program. The draft development program was presented by Rector Alexander Karpik; Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Activities Igor Musikhin and Director of IGiM Sergei Seredovich took part in the discussion of the strategic project. The university team included Deputy Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Irina Manuilova and Executive Director of Digital Transformation of Navigation Institute JSC Olga Gorbunova. The projects were defended live. University rectors spoke about the main directions of development of their universities and their transformation thanks to grant support from the Priority 2030 program.

The Priority 2030 program is aimed at the formation of modern universities - centers of scientific, technological and socio-economic development of Russia. 119 universities from 50 regions of the country took part in the qualifying stage. At the meeting, educational institutions presented projects of their development programs, the strongest of which would be able to apply for a grant.

In the Priority 2030 program, SSUGiT plans to implement the strategic project “High-tech geospatial ecosystem: development of human capital, creation and implementation of innovative technological solutions and products.” The goal of the project is to form an innovative research ecosystem that brings breakthrough geospatial technologies and solutions into business.

During the implementation of the strategic project, the following will be developed and created: a digital cross-platform “More than a University”, which solves the problems of automating key internal and external business processes of the university (education, scientific research, techno-entrepreneurship, innovation); innovation and technology cluster for the development, testing and promotion of breakthrough geospatial solutions and technologies in the ecosystem of the Novosibirsk region; network research and educational center for developing competencies for bringing new technologies into business; regional center for additional professional education in the field of geospatial technologies and solutions.

Rector of SSUGT Alexander Karpik commented on the plans of the change team at the university:

The strategic goal is to become a leader in Siberia and the Far East in the field of geospatial activities and the development of platform solutions.
